“What?”
Douglas stares at the round rocks, hands behind back and face in concentration. His eyes flit from one to the next, counting.
“What’s ‘it,’ Douglas?”
Nothing moves, yet Douglas looks up. “These balls.”
“Yes?”
“They’re odd.”
